The Leeds faithful were not convinced by the goalkeeper's attempts to defend himself on social media.

Leeds United fans are pretty used to strange goings on at Elland Road this season. So it was no surprise to many to see six players rule themselves out of Championship action this weekend.

Naturally, the Leeds faithful's reaction wasn't a positive one.

And one man disappointed them the most on Twitter - because he had always been thought of as one of the good guys and been given huge support by the club.

Indeed, goalkeeper Marco Silvestri's inclusion in the band of six was difficult for a lot of supporters to take. Many believed his version of events, although they have been accused by some of wanting to believe the Italian as he has been so important for Leeds this season.

It all boiled down to the 24-year-old's attempts to defend himself on social media:

Before his tweet, many were on his side. But, after displaying what he deemed to be a big enough cut to justify ruling himself out of his side's Championship clash with Charlton Athletic, lots lost faith in Silvestri.

Plenty of Leeds fans could have lived without Dario Del Fabro, Edgar Cani and co - they have done all season. But it's Silvestri who has hurt them most:
