Jordan Henderson thanks Liverpool's fans and targets top-four finish after Player of the Month award

Jordan Henderson has reflected on his latest award as a Liverpool player.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has been speaking to the club’s official website following his Player of the Month award for March.

The 24-year-old had a month to remember, scoring goals against Manchester City, Burnley and Swansea City as Liverpool closed in on fourth-placed Manchester United.

But when Louis van Gaal’s side came to Anfield, things did not go according to plan and Liverpool have since seen an eight-point gap open up between the Reds and United.

That said, Liverpool are only four points behind Manchester City, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualifying place.

In total Henderson has featured 47 times for Liverpool this season, scoring seven times and providing 14 assists, and there is no doubt he is now an integral part of Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Speaking following his award, Henderson said, “Thank you to the fans for all your support.

“There have been some good performances from the team and I managed to get on the score-sheet as well a few times, which was nice.”

On the rest of the season, Henderson said, “The top four is still realistic. It will be difficult, we’re four points behind and City are a good side.”

But Liverpool have proved their worth time and time again in 2015, and they may yet have enough to rob the Blues of a place among the European elite next season.
