Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew bemoans penalty decision in West Brom defeat

The Eagles lost 2-0 against West Brom this afternoon.

Crystal Palace had their recent good run of form shattered today after an excellent performance from West Brom at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

But Alan Pardew had some complaints after the game.

He felt that they should have had a penalty when Craig Gardner upended Wilfried Zaha in the box.

He is quoted by the official Crystal Palace Twitter account as stating:

It was certainly a tough call from the referee, it could have gone either way, but in all honesty West Brom deserved the 2-0 win at Selhurst Park.

After four wins on the bounce and a charge to safety in the Premier League, Palace fans will forgive the odd defeat now.

Of course Pardew has no reason to feel shame. What he has done with the Palace team this season has been superb and defeats now are likely. It did not help that in the opposite dugout was Tony Pulis, who knows the Palace players like the back of his hand.

Pardew will now be turning his attention to next season and the summer, as Palace look to have a drama free campaign.
