According to the Daily Mirror, Crystal Palace are interested in securing the transfer of Charlie Austin from Queens Park Rangers.

Palace and said to feel that Austin would be the perfect man to enhance their goal threat, and are considering an approach to sign him this summer.

Doing so could be difficult as they reportedly face competition from Southampton and Newcastle United for the talented front-man, but the Eagles are confident they could convince him to make a move to Selhurst Park due to the ambition the club are showing at the moment.

Palace have improved considerably under Alan Pardew's stewardship and want Austin to increase the overall quality in their squad.

Would Austin be a good addition for Palace?

The signing of Austin would be a real statement of intent for Palace, as the 25-year-old has been in such sparkling form this term.

Austin has scored 17 goals in 31 appearances this term and looks to be one of the most deadly strikers in the Premier League.

With the skill and creativity of the likes of Yannick Bolasie, Jason Puncheon and Wilfried Zaha behind him, he would be a real threat and could be an ideal addition for an ambitious Palace side.
