The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder led the young side out against Liverpool.
It's been a long time since Etienne Capoue was in action for Spurs.
And that wait continues. But not when it comes to the Under-21s. Indeed, the French midfielder led Tottenham's young side out against Liverpool on Friday night.
Yet what was even more interesting than seeing Capoue actually play a game was the red haircut he was sporting.
Capoue began the season with as much of a shot as any of his Spurs team-mates at being a regular starter in Mauricio Pochettino's side. Slowly, however, the midfielder's form dropped and his manager lost faith in him. After tonight, though, Capoue could find himself back in the picture.
After all, what better time for the 26-year-old to stake his claim for a place in the Tottenham team than when most of his fellow squad members look off form?
The north London side travel to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon at St James' Park, when the Magpies could face an empty stadium with their supporters planning a mass boycott in protest against the club's ownership. With only a few games left of the Premier League campaign, Capoue needs to take every opportunity he can to get back into the Spurs team.
