Nottingham Forest fans react on Twitter to Dougie Freedman's new contract

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has signed a new two-year deal at the club.

Nottingham Forest confirmed yesterday on their website that Dougie Freedman has signed a new two-year contract at the club.

The Scot has made a decent start to life at the City Ground after he replaced former manager Stuart Pearce and has been provided with security, as he looks to improve and progress the side over the course of the summer leading into next season.

Forest are on a difficult run of form but Freedman has shown enough in his short spell at the club for fans to be positive about him leading the team forward as they try to get into the Premier League for the 2016/2017 campaign.

The first big task he faced when he signed his first deal was stopping the bad run of form, which had started to develop under Pearce. He did that and quickly got the club into a position of safety, which made life much more comfortable for supporters.

He also got Forest playing in a fashion he believes is what the club’s fans want to say. Any interview Freedman gives at the moment seems to be based around specific keywords such as passion and commitment.

Those are qualities he’s made it clear he expects to see from his players and qualities, which mean the club’s fans know exactly what they are going to get when they go to the City Ground or travel away from home to watch the team play.

He now faces a big challenge this summer in terms of improving the team and ensuring that the club is in a better position looking ahead to the new campaign. His hands are tied by the transfer embargo, which currently hangs over the club but showed with Chuba Akpom’s loan move that Forest can still be sold as a club.

Here’s what Forest fans on Twitter had to say about the news.
