The on loan midfielder has suggested Villa should rely on their best players and leave Liverpool to worry on their threat ahead of the season defining match.
“Looking at the semi-final, I think we have dangerous players. We have players who can win games,” he said.
“Look at the likes of Christian, Gabby and Delphy. They are right on top of their game.”
“I am sure Liverpool will be assessing our threats and pointing out what we have got in our locker.”
Christian Benteke is the player that manager Tim Sherwood seems to have built his attack around since he came in as manager.
He’s in good form and has played well in recent weeks against dome very decent defenders. He’ll definitely be looking to use his core strength, pace and power to put Liverpool’s defence onto the back foot.
Gabby Agbonlahor is another player Sherwood seems to have given a fresh lease of life too and a player who has that electric burst of pace, which will be vital in the game this weekend.
Wembley is a big and wide open pitch which presents the chance for Villa to be effective on the counter attack and Agbonlahor can definitely make a difference.
Fabian Delph will play a more withdrawn and controlled role and will be the man who needs to get stuck in effectively and control the pace of the play if Villa are going to get a result.
They’re also going to need a little bit of luck and if all three players Cleverley has suggested fire, a result is possible.
