Gray names the two players who could miss Sheffield Wednesday's match against Bournemouth

Sheffield Wednesday 2

Sheffield Wednesday could be without two of their key men against Bournemouth this weekend.

Stuart Gray has told the Sheffield Wednesday's official site that Lewis McGugan and Sam Hutchinson could both miss the side's weekend match against Bournemouth.

McGugan and Hutchinson have both been suffering with illness and Gray admits they are doubts for tomorrow's match.

The Owls boss says they will leave a decision on their fitness down to the last minute, but he has concerns over their availability.

“Sam and Lewis have viruses so we will leave it as late as possible," he said. “We have a big part to play and will have a big say. We did so on Tuesday and that’s how I want us to perform. I always prepare my team to get a result."

“All the players are champing at the bit and wanting to play. We have got three great games left.”

Wednesday will be disappointed to lose McGugan and Hutchinson, as the Yorkshire side will need all their key players available to them if they are to beat Bournemouth.

Eddie Howe's side are the current Championship leaders and they appear to be relentless in their pursuit of Premier League football.

Bournemouth have not buckled, despite having a number of challengers, and they will be determined to beat Wednesday on Saturday to strengthen their position at the top of the league.

The Owls have little to play for, but they did beat Brentford in their last fixture and will be looking to cause another upset tomorrow.
