The striker has been scoring goals for fun this season at MK Dons and Wolves.
The striker has been in top form since his move to the League One club, which in turn saw him make a move to Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
All in all this season he has scored a whopping 30 goals in 48 appearances this season, making him the top scorer in English domestic football this season, ahead of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
"Jack said before the season started that I was going to make a name for myself. He even joked that he was going to put a bet on me to be top goalscorer.
"It just shows the belief my friends, including Jack, have in me. There's a top class player saying that to me, so it was a major confidence boost."
Like Wilshere, Afobe has had to deal with a number of serious injuries in his early career. He has struggled with serious knee problems which seemed to curtail his Arsenal progress.
But he now seems to have overcome those issues with aplomb and is now England's most potent finisher.
Wolves are currently just outside the play-off places but will be hoping to make it into the top six by the end of the season.
If they do so, Afobe might just fire his way to a meeting with Wilshere next season.
