Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Paper claims Pochettino has contradicted himself

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Star claims Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has gone back on a statement he made over pre-season for next year.

Spurs are set to play a match against the MLS All-Stars in July, with Pochettino allegedly having said that he didn’t want to cover long distances for pre-season.

The Star claims Tottenham have said it will be their only match outside Europe as part of their preparations for next season.

The Daily Star has carried the rumour that Tottenham and Arsenal are locked in a battle to sign Tom Cleverley from Manchester United.

The midfielder has been playing on loan at Aston Villa, but Spurs are thought to be one of the sides interested in signing him at the end of the season.

The paper claims that along with interest from Arsenal and Villa, Leicester City are among the sides tempted to make an offer.

The Daily Express has reported that forward Emmanuel Adebayor is keen on a move to Tottenham’s London rivals Chelsea.

The player reportedly wants to move on from White Hart Lane in the summer, with the Blues one of the sides he would consider joining.

Adebayor has struggled to make an impression under manager Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham this season.
