Roberto Martinez gives Romelu Lukaku injury update ahead of Everton v Burnley

Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku is set to feature for Everton against Burnley at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said in today’s press conference that Romelu Lukaku is likely to feature against Burnley on Saturday, according to the club’s official Twitter page.

The Belgium international striker has been struggling with injuries of late, but he seems to have recovered enough to play in the Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

"Rom has had two very good days with the group,” said Martinez. “We expect him to do the same again. If there are no problems, he will play against Burnley.”

This will come as a huge boost to Everton, who are in a good run of form at the moment and appear to have turned around their fortunes.

The Toffees are currently 12th in the Premier League table with 38 points from 32 matches, 12 points above the relegation zone.

Lukaku, 21, has been far from his best this campaign, but he remains one of the best young players in the Premier League and a key member of the current Everton squad.

The former Chelsea man has scored eight goals and created 28 chances in 30 league appearances this season, while having a pass accuracy of 74% and a shot accuracy of 56%.
