The Polish stopper has been on the sidelines in recent months.
Arsenal take on Reading in the FA Cup this weekend, which means that changes are likely in the first-team. Of course nothing drastic, Arsenal would love to retain their title for a second season in a row.
But a goalkeeping change is likely.
Since his New Years Day horror show, on and off the pitch, against Southampton Wojciech Szczesny has become second choice at Arsenal behind Colombian stopper David Ospina.
But he has retained a place as FA Cup goalie, and will feature against United, as Arsene Wenger confirmed to the London Evening Standard today:
“This season he has played at Man United and he had a very good performance. I believe it’s important that the two goalkeepers get competition and he will get competition in the FA Cup now, as long as Ospina plays in the Premier League.”
Arsenal trained ahead of the game this weekend in the sunshine at London Colney and Szcezsny was hard at work.
The Polish stopper was clearly getting put through his paces at the club today and is certainly looking up to the task of taking on the Championship club tomorrow.
He was of course not the only one in action. Theo Walcott, who will hope to play against his local boyhood club, was in action along with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla.
