Leigh Griffiths stole the headlines at Celtic Park with a hat-trick from the substitutes bench.
It was another good night for Celtic on Wednesday as they came from behind to beat Kilmarnock 4-1 at Parkhead to tighten their grip on top spot in the Scottish Premiership.
After a goalless first half, the reigning champions had a bit of a scare after the interval when the visitors took the lead as Darryl Westlake's shot took a wicked deflection to get the better of Craig Gordon in the home side's goal.
Captain Scott Brown equalised before the fixture became the Leigh Griffiths show. Within five minutes of his introduction he found the net to put Celtic in front, but had to wait another 20 minutes before he found the net twice in the space of five minutes to seal the victory for the hosts - ensuring that they sit three points clear of Aberdeen with a game in hand.
His second strike was worth the short wait during the game, with an eye-catching low drive going in off the post to put the game beyond doubt before he completed his hat-trick.
Naturally, the reaction on Twitter to an impressive half-hour display from Griffiths was positive, with some questioning why he wasn’t given a starting place. Maybe with a cup semi-final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle coming on Sunday, Ronny Deila opted to keep players fresh.
There were also several jokes related to teacakes after he was spotted indulging himself while on the bench during last week's win over St Mirren.
Here is a selection of what was said:
