Celtic manager Ronny Deila spoke to the press after his side's 4-1 win over Kilmarnock tonight, and with quotes reported by the club's official Twitter account, he heaped praise on striker Leigh Griffiths.
After Saturday's 1-1 draw at Inverness, Celtic were keen to get back to winning ways tonight as Kilmarnock travelled to Celtic Park - but they fell behind as Darryl Westlake gave Killie the lead.
Midfielder Scott Brown equalised for Celtic just minutes later, but the real spark for the Bhoys came when striker Leigh Griffiths was introduced on the hour mark.
The striker had been benched, most likely down to resting him after playing on Saturday, but showed why Deila should be starting every game.
Griffiths not only scored to put Celtic in front just six minutes after coming on, but ended up scoring a 20 minute hat-trick to fire Celtic to all three points.
Celtic are now eight points clear of second placed Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership table, and are moving ever closer a historic treble in Deila's first season in charge.
After the game, Deila told the press that he was delighted with Griffiths' display, largely because he proved why he should be starting - but told him to stop eating cakes!
