Report: Everton to make permanent offer for on-loan Belgian striker David Henen

Henen is currently on loan at Everton from Olympiakos.

18-year-old forward Henen has been on loan at Goodison Park this term, and a report in the Liverpool Echo has claimed that the Toffees will be taking up the permanent option of his signing.

A prolific striker at youth international level for the Red Devils, with whom he has scored goals at Under-15 to Under-19 level, the youngster has not made an appearance for Roberto Martinez’s men this term - instead being restricted to the Under-21 side.

His loan from Greek side Olympiakos, whom he only signed for last summer from Anderlecht, has turned into something of a season long trial with Everton, and his four goals and two assists in the Under-21 Premier League have clearly done enough to impress Toffees management.

There is as yet no confirmation as to a fee that Everton will have to pay to make the deal permanent, or how long they intend to secure him down for, but the prospect of signing another young, prolific striker will obviously raise hope on Merseyside due to the ongoing success of Romelu Lukaku.

A permanent signing means that Henen is surely set to link up with Martinez's first-team in the future, and it would be no surprise to see him promoted into a senior squad member at the start of next season.
