Jurgen Klopp's Dortmund resignation is bad news for Newcastle United's interest in Thomas Tuchel

The former Mainz boss is the early favourite to take over from Klopp at Dortmund.

Newcastle United have some rebuilding to do this summer. The Toon not only need to make adjustments on the pitch, but also off of it.

John Carver is currently in caretaker charge of the first team, and has failed to deliver consistent results. He took over after Alan Pardew took charge of his beloved Crystal Palace - and has led them to a string of impressive results.

One of the big names linked with taking over from Carver in the summer has been former Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel, as reported by The Chronicle.

The German is a revolutionary football manager who worked for many years under Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp. In Germany, he is even referred to as his 'little brother'.

Well now his big brother is leaving home and Tuchel is expected to become the man of the house.

Klopp confirmed today that he will be leaving Dortmund this summer. With that in mind it is widely believed, and reported by Bild, that Tuchel is in line to replace him at Signal Iduna Park.

If he does, that would of course mean he is not heading to Newcastle United in the summer - leaving them considering their future options without his name in the mix.
