A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Tottenham Hotspur this Wednesday evening.

Tottenham are in the race to try and sign Manchester City midfielder James Milner, according to a report by Goal.

Milner has been linked with several Premier League clubs this season, with his contract at the Etihad Stadium coming to an end this summer and the England international yet to agree to a new deal.

The Goal report states that Liverpool are the favourites to secure his signature, Arsenal are also closely monitoring the situation, while Spurs are said to be following up on interest from last summer when they tried to sign him but were 'convinced' that he would sign a new contract at City.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports are reporting that Spurs are interested in another English midfielder who is due to be out of contract in the summer, in the form of Manchester United's Tom Cleverley.

Cleverley seems to be out of favour at Old Trafford, given that he was allowed to leave the club for Aston Villa on loan at the start of the season.

Villa are keen to make the deal permanent according to the report, but there are a number of other interested Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Everton and West Ham United - so if Spurs did want to sign him, it looks as though they will face a lot of competition.
