Gray has complaint about one Wednesday player despite Brentford win

Sheffield Wednesday - The Owls

Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray showed his perfectionist nature with his comments after the side's win against Brentford last night.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray has told the Sheffield Star that he was disappointed with Sergiu Bus for missing a chance which could have sealed victory against Brentford last night.

Although Wednesday managed to beat Brentford 1-0, Gray felt the win should have been more comfortable and bemoaned his side's lack of cutting edge.

The Owls have struggled for goals all season and Gray says that Bus should have scored when given a presentable opportunity towards the end of the match.

“We had opportunities to get the second goal but we couldn’t kill it off," Gray said. "We have to be more clinical when we go through. Sergiu Bus should have at least hit the target with his chance. We needed that win to give ourselves a breather.”

Bus has had a slow start at Wednesday, after injury has blighted his initial progress, and scoring yesterday could have been important for him.

The Romanian striker will be hoping to prove to Gray that he is capable of being a regular starter next term, when Wednesday will be looking for much more from their strikers.

The Yorkshire outfit's season has been negatively impacted by their inability to hit the back of the net with any frequency and Bus will be tasked with ensuring that they pose much more of threat to defences in the near future.

At the moment, Bus has scored one goal in his first six Wednesday appearances, but his run of 10 goals in 10 games for CSKA Sofia, his former club, offers some encouragement that his total could increase before the end of the season.
