Charles N’Zogbia showed off a questionable fashion sense yesterday.
The former Newcastle man had his questionable outfit posted on Twitter by Aston Villa teammate Shay Given.
His choice of flower-blazoned one-piece certainly brought a few laughs, although it is hard to say whether the Frenchman’s fashion faux was the worst ever committed by a footballer - even if he does look like the bad linens from a 1980’s lounge set.
The modern day infatuation with catching football players in their private lives has led to an increase in dodgy outfits being caught out.
Some may do it for fun, some may not care, but at least one on out list is definitely self aware of his decision to dress like a modernist author.
The heady lives of a modern day footballer leads not just to on-pitch success, but also to off field issues, and considering their brilliance on the field on play, you would expect many of these players would be able to dress themselves.
Yet, clearly they cannot, and in honour of N’Zogbia's get-up, we look at five of the worst dressed footballers in recent memory.
Nicklas Bendtner - The James Joyce
Michael Carrick - The Topman mannequin
