DeAndre Yedlin and Tottenham making US return for MLS All-Star Game

Mauricio Pochettino's side will be taking on Major League Soccer's best in Colorado this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to spend another preseason in North America this summer, with the Premier League club confirmed as the opponents for the 2015 MLS All-Star Game.

The annual showcase will take place on July 29 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, home of the Colorado Rapids, where Maurico Pochettino’s men will come up against a collection of the best talent MLS has to offer.

The match means a return to the States for Tottenham and former Seattle Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin, who started at right-back for the 2014 All-Stars against Bayern Munich and was selected to the 2013 team versus Roma – the first rookie since 2005 to receive the honour.

In addition, Spurs could face a couple of their former players on the night in Yedlin’s ex-Seattle teammate Clint Dempsey and LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane, who were both on the 2014 side that beat Bayern 2-1 at Providence Park in Portland.

Speaking to, Tottenham boss Pochettino said: "We'd like to thank Major League Soccer for the invitation to take part in the 2015 All-Star Game.

“The fact that this will be our only fixture outside of Europe during preseason says a lot about how we view this game. We enjoyed three tough matches last summer in North America and the quality of football in MLS continues to grow every year.

“Preseason is an important time for us and we are looking forward to being a part of one of the biggest events on the US football calendar. We know the quality of the facilities will be top-class and we see this fixture against the best players from MLS as good preparation."

The clash with Spurs will mark the 12th time in 20 years that the MLS All-Stars have faced international opposition, having taken on the likes of Manchester United [2010 & 2011], Everton [2009], Chelsea [2006 & 2012], Roma [2013] and Bayern [2014] in the past.
