Taarabt has struggled to make an impression at QPR this season, but his quality is undeniable and Ramsey believes he is playing far below his potential at the moment.
The attacking midfielder is one of the most naturally gifted players in the R's squad and Ramsey feels he has the skill required to represent one of the Champions League chasing Premier League teams.
“Let’s be honest, he should be playing for a top team in a top country like he showed at AC Milan when on loan," Ramsey said. "Many a person has tried (to coach him) and it has to come from within to some extent.
“At the moment, I don’t think I’ve got the time to spend when I’ve got to get the rest of the squad where I want them to be, and it's frustrating because he’s one of the best players in the Premiership.”
Taarabt's fitness has come under question this season and his attitude continues to frustrate managers at Loftus Road who have been unable to draw the best out of him.
The Morocco international's best form came under Neil Warnock when QPR were in the Championship, but he has never performed to a consistent standard at the top level.
It is a something which has damaged QPR's chances this season as, on his day, Taarabt has the potential to win points for his side single-handedly.
Blessed with wonderful technical ability and skill, Taarabt is a player who attracts attention, but he is also proof that talent alone isn't enough to guarantee success.
