Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko was sent off for a second yellow card for a terrible tackle on Lucas Leiva.
Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva insists he is not badly hurt despite sustaining a horrific tackle against Newcastle.
Late in the game with Liverpool 2-0 up, Lucas was the victim of a high studs-up challenge from French midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
Already on a yellow card, Sissoko walked off before referee Lee Mason could even brandish the red.
Lucas was substituted shortly after, but fortunately it appears there is no serious injury, and he was keen to confirm this via Twitter.
Grande vitória hoje, minha perna esta ok, obrigado pelas mensagens. Great win today, my leg is fine , thanks for the messages . YNWA— Lucas Leiva (@LucasLeiva87) April 13, 2015
While he needs to be assessed by the club's medical team, it appears fortunately there is no danger of him missing out on the weekend's FA Cup semi-final at Wembley against Aston Villa.
Injuries have restricted the 28-year-old to just 15 starts this season, and he has only recently returned from several weeks on the sidelines.
Sissoko was only given a yellow card for the challenge rather than a straight red, even if he was dismissed in any case.
