Ronny Deila has told the Daily Record that Stefan Johansen will not be leaving Parkhead at the end of the season.
Johansen had been linked with a host of Bundesliga clubs in the Scotsman this morning, but Deila has publicly denied these rumours.
The Norwegian boss says that he has heard of no interest in Johansen and he wouldn't listen to offers, even if there was.
"It’s news to me. But the Norwegian press are very good at talking up players and they can continue with that," he said.
"Stefan has big potential and he knows what’s it’s all about now and I believe he can improve more here.
"Celtic is the right place to be for him and he is one of the players we want to build the team around."
Johansen has arguably been Celtic's best player this season, with his energetic performances crucial for Deila's side's game-plan.
Deila likes the Bhoys to play at a high-tempo and move the ball around quickly and Johansen has adapted to this style quicker than most.
As a result the 24-year-old has made over 50 appearances for Celtic and he will be encouraged to have heard such praise from his manager today.
Deila appears to be building an exciting team at Celtic and Johansen looks set to be a key part of the future of the football club.
