Like many other Reds supporters, the attacking midfielder claims he'll be sad to see Steven Gerrard, his favourite player, leave Anfield this summer.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Marseille's Andre Ayew, who is out of contract in the summer and rumoured to be being chased by a whole host of Premier League clubs, has revealed he is a Liverpool supporter.
“All my life I have been a Liverpool fan,” the Ghanian revealed.
"When I was young I was watching the Liverpool games.
“Steven Gerrard is my favourite player. It will not be easy to see him leave in the summer, but we all need a new challenge.”
Sky Sports claim that the likes of Arsenal, Everton, Swansea, Newcastle, and Spurs are all interested in providing that new challenge for the African star, who also revealed he discussed a move to QPR in January.
The attacking midfielder, who won the BBC's African Player of the Year in 2011, has been a key man at Stade Vélodrome since bursting onto the scene in 2007, and after a couple of early loan spells, has been a regular provider of goals and assists for the French giants.
Marseille are fighting to qualify for the Champions League next season, and are just five points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain, with Ayew playing an integral role in what has been a decent season under new manager and former Argentina boss Marcelo Biesla.
The 25-year-old has scored 8 goals and created 5 more for his teammates this season, including 4 strikes in his last 7 games, and that is despite missing games with an early season injury and African Cup of Nations duty.
Given Ayew's disclosure about his love for Liverpool, it could be a very smart move for Brendan Rodgers to pursue what would be an outstanding Bosman signing for the Reds.
