The 22-year-old, who joined the Reds on loan from Premier League outfit Villa in the January transfer window, has missed the last two games due to suspension.
Forest failed to win either of those matches - against Brentford away from home and Huddersfield Town at the City Ground.
Gardner is available for the Nottingham-based outfit’s Championship clash against Watford at home on Wednesday, and he is relishing the prospect of getting back to action.
Earlier this afternoon, the youngster took to social networking site Twitter to post the following message:
Gardner has been an important player for Forest under manager Dougie Freedman, and his availability will be a welcome boost to the team who are struggling for points and for form at the moment.
In 15 Championship appearances for Forest so far this season, the midfielder has scored three goals and created 10 chances, while having a pass accuracy of 72%.
The youngster has won 40 of the 70 tackles he has made and five of the seven dribbles he has attempted.
Forest are currently ninth in the Championship table with 58 points from 42 matches.
