Report: World Cup winner rules out Manchester United move for Bale

Gareth Bale

Zinedine Zidane has told Manchester United that Gareth Bale is not for sale this summer.

According to quotes in the Daily Mirror on Tuesday, Real Madrid will in no way consider selling Gareth Bale, says World Cup winner and Real Madrid Castilla coach, Zinedine Zidane.

“Real Madrid buy the best players in the world, they don’t sell them. Of course other clubs will be interested in him, he would improve any squad in the world.

“But the president has said he is not for sale – and that is because he is not for sale. That will be the answer to Manchester United or any other club that asks the question.”

Bale, who joined the Spanish giants for £86 million from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2013 has been linked with numerous moves to Old Trafford, even soon after he made the move to La Liga.

It was Bale who scored the winning goal in the Cope Del Rey final and the second goals in extra time as Real were crowned Champions of Europe against city rivals Atletico Madrid last May.

The Welshman hasn’t quite hit the same heights this year and a dip in form has seen sections of the support turn against the 25-year-old.

It is a move that solely lives in the realms of fantasy, with Manchester United looking to finish inside the top four this season, they would come under Financial Fair Play scrutiny, making any straight cash move almost impossible.

Real would never let him go without receiving a huge transfer fee, something that would break the current records, and it is unlikely that Manchester United have that sort of money to spend.

Now, both President Florentino Perez and Zidane have ruled out a summer move for Bale, they hope that will be the end of the speculation. Sadly, this will not be the case.
