Wednesday are currently stationed in 13th position in the second tier and Lavery says that it is important for the side to pick up some wins before the end of the campaign.
The Owls are determined to finish in the top half and Lavery insists that they will not let the season fizzle out.
“The boys are looking forward to the run in," he said. "We have a big part to play in what happens at the top of the table. We are not happy with where we are in the league but we are looking to get maximum points from the final four games.”
Lavery's statement should encourage Wednesday supporters, but it will be important that the club show their intentions with their actions on the pitch, rather than with words.
The Owls' recent performances have not reached their optimum level and, as a result, they have won just one of their last six matches.
It has seen them slip out of the top-half of the Championship standings and this has clearly been a disappointment within the squad.
Wednesday still have still four games to rectify this, though, and a winning run between now and the end of the season should see them climb the table rapidly.
