Queens Park Rangers failed to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at home.
Rangers headed into the clash at Loftus Road on the back of a 3-3 draw with Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park.
It was always going to be tough for QPR to get the better of league leaders Chelsea, but they almost snatched a point.
An 88th-minute goal from former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas proved to be the difference between the two sides in the London derby.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, QPR had 40% of the possession, took 15 shots of which four were on target, and earned five corners.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side had 60% of the possession, took nine shots of which only one was on target, and earned six corners.
The defeat means that QPR remain third from bottom in the Premier League table with 26 points from 33 matches, two points behind 17th-placed Hull City having played a game more.
Gutted but great spirit shown again as a club. To a man we gave our all. Fans superb. Didn't go our way. No time to feel down. 5 more wars.— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) April 12, 2015
