The formidable 'BBC' attacking trio of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo will need to be at their very best on Tuesday night when Real Madrid head across town to the Vicente Calderon for the eagerly anticipated Champions League derby with Atletico Madrid.
Bale has recovered from an injury that kept him out of action in La Liga at the weekend, so is expected to make his return, alongside the Portuguese and French stars.
Real Madrid won the final in dramatic fashion in Lisbon last season, achieving their elusive 'Décima' of Champions League/European Cup trophies. Atletico will surely be out to avenge that defeat and secure a strong first-leg advantage on home soil.
That said, Real Madrid haven't fared well in domestic competition against their city rivals, so they too will be keen to exact a little revenge of their own, especially following the humiliating 4-0 defeat suffered at the Calderon, just last February.
Despite the pressures, tensions and expectations ahead of what will be a fascinating, all-Spanish encounter, the Real Madrid players looked relaxed and in good spirits, as they held their final training session on Monday, ahead of the Tuesday night clash.
