Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has been singing the praises of Manchester United winger Ashley Young on social networking site Twitter.
Young has been a key player for United this season, and he was superb against Manchester City at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.
The England international, who scored in the 14th minute, took three shots, had a pass accuracy of 74%, created two chances, put in six crosses, attempted three dribbles, and made two interceptions, one clearance and one block.
Jenas was following the Manchester derby, which ended in a 4-2 win for United, and he was impressed with what he saw of Young.
Don't care what you lot on here are saying about @youngy18 and the past, this year he's got his head down and worked hard.— Jermaine Jenas (@jjenas8) April 12, 2015
Young has not always played well for United since his move from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the summer of 2011, but this campaign he has worked hard and adapted to manager Louis van Gaal’s tactics.
In 20 league appearances so far this season, the 29-year-old has scored two goals and created 23 chances, while having a pass accuracy of 80% and a shot accuracy of 54%.
United are currently third in the Premier League table with 65 points from 32 matches, just a point behind second-placed Arsenal.
