According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has set his sights on Swansea City defender Ashley Williams.
The Reds brought Dejan Lovren in from Southampton last summer to solve their defensive problems, but the Croatian has struggled throughout the season.
After the recent defensive horror show against Arsenal, manager Rodgers may need to spend again this summer in order to finally strengthen his backline.
Following the disastrous Lovren signing, Rodgers could instead look to sign someone he has already worked with - as the Daily Mirror believe that Ashley Williams is on his radar.
The 30-year-old Welsh international has been a mainstay of the Swansea side ever since joining from Stockport County in 2008, playing almost 300 league games for the club.
Swans skipper Williams has proven himself to be a strong, reliable centre back and worked under Rodgers two seasons during the Liverpool manager's time at the Liberty Stadium from 2010 to 2012.
A reunion could be a great way for Liverpool to sign an experienced, proven Premier League defender, whilst Williams, who will turn 31 this summer, may see it as his last chance to join one of the Premier League's biggest clubs if Liverpool and Rodgers do come calling.
