Sunderland suffered a 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Saturday.

Crystal Palace maintained their great run of form with victory over Sunderland away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Eagles headed into the clash at the Stadium of Light on the back of a 2-1 win against defending English champions Manchester City at Selhurst Park.

It was not supposed to be easy for Palace, as Sunderland had defeated Newcastle United 1-0 at home in the Tyne-Wear derby last weekend.

However, Alan Pardew’s side did not encounter too much of a problem against the Black Cats, easing to a 4-1 away win.

The star of the show was 25-year-old DR Congo international winger Yannick Bolasie, who scored an 11-minute hat-trick in the second half.

The win means that Palace are now 11th in the Premier League table with 42 points from 32 matches, while Sunderland are just three points above the relegation zone in 16th.
