Jamie Redknapp predicts Manchester United v Manchester City

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp looks ahead to today’s Premier League clash between Manchester United and Manchester City.

Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports that he expects Manchester United to win against Manchester City in the Premier League today.

The former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has predicted the Red Devils to win the Manchester derby 2-1 at Old Trafford, with Wayne Rooney scoring the first goal.

“I am going to go for United 2-1 with Rooney scoring the first goal,” Redknapp told Sky Sports when asked about his prediction of the game.

Could Jamie Redknapp’s prediction come true?

United will probably head into the Manchester derby as favourites, as they have the better momentum as well as home advantage.

Louis van Gaal’s side have suffered just two defeats in their last 21 Premier League games and have also been playing well in recent weeks.

The Red Devils have won 40 points at home - more than any other Premier League side - and one cannot see them losing today.

City, though, will give their Manchester rivals a run for their money. Despite struggling in recent weeks, Manuel Pellegrini’s side do have players who can step up on the big occasions.
