Aston Villa maintained their chances of avoiding relegation from the Premier League at the end of the season with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur away from home on Saturday.
The Villans headed into the game at White Hart Lane on the back of a 3-3 draw with Queens Park Rangers at Villa Park.
Not many would have expected Villa to win in North London, but they did, thanks to a goal from Belgium international striker Christian Benteke.
The 24-year-old’s goal in the 35th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides, as Villa went six points clear of the relegation zone.
Tim Sherwood’s team currently have 32 points from 33 matches and have a good chance of escaping the drop to the Championship.
Chelsea winger Eden Hazard was following the match, and he was delighted to see his Belgium international teammate Benteke score against Spurs.
