Michael Owen predicts Sunderland v Crystal Palace

Sunderland Gates

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen looks ahead to today’s Premier League clash between Sunderland and Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light.

Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Sunderland will win today’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker believes that the Black Cats will pick up all three points at the Stadium of Light.

“I see Palace boss Alan Pardew is into 4/1 (from 8s) to be named LMA Manager of the Year for the second time in four years at BetVictor after their magnificent win against City on Monday,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“That said I think the value might lie in the Black Cats who will be buoyed by their fifth successive win in the Tyne-Wear derby last weekend.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Sunderland to win at 17/10”.

Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?

This is a tricky game to call, and it could well end in a draw. Sunderland, though, will fancy their chances following last weekend’s 1-0 home win against Newcastle United.

That victory has revived the Black Cats’s chances of avoiding the drop from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Playing at home will also give Sunderland an advantage against Palace, who are pushing for a top-10 finish.

The Eagles will head into today’s match on the back of a brilliant 2-1 victory over defending English champions Manchester City at Selhurst Park.

Palace have won their last three Premier League games, and one should not be surprised if they make it four wins out of four today.
