Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that there will be at least three goals in today’s Premier League clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.
The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker expects to see an entertaining game at White Hart Lane in North London.
“Christian Benteke is a handful for any side at the top of his game and the Villa striker has scored seven times in his last five PL appearances,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Harry Kane was out of luck against Burnley last weekend but has six goals in his last four games at White Hart Lane and I expect to see goals with Villa boss Tim Sherwood going back to his former club.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Over 2.5 goals at ¾”.
Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?
Tottenham are a high-pressing attacking side, and it will indeed be a surprise if they fail to score today.
Playing at home will give the Spurs players an extra lift, and star striker Harry Kane will be determined to add to his tally and maintain his great run of form.
Just a few weeks ago, Villa were struggling for goals, which is probably the main reason why they are among the teams fighting for survival in the Premier League this season.
However, under manager Tim Sherwood, the Villans are a rejuvenated side, with Belgium international striker Christian Benteke finding some form in recent days.
