Gary Lineker has taken to social networking site Twitter to suggest that Alan Pardew would have led Crystal Palace to the Premier League title had he been the team’s manager since the start of the season.
The Tottenham Hotspur legend made the comments during Palace’s league game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light today.

Palace were 2-0 up when Lineker made the comments, and the Eagles eventually went on to win the contest 4-1, with Yannick Bolasie scoring a hat-trick.
The London outfit are now 11th in the Premier League table with 42 points from 32 matches, just a point behind Stoke City, who are 10th.
When Pardew took over at Palace after leaving Newcastle United in January 2015, the team were struggling for survival in the league and were in real danger of dropping down to the Championship.
However, the Englishman has steadily improved the Eagles’ performance and results, and they now find themselves with a chance of finishing in the top 10.
However, Lineker is going a bit overboard in suggesting that Palace would have won the Premier League had Pardew been in charge from the start of the season. He was probably joking...
