Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm has told the club's official website that he believes Christian Benteke is Aston Villa's best player.
Vorm is set to play in goal for Tottenham against Villa this weekend with Hugo Lloris still sidelined through injury, and he is fully aware of the striker's threat.
The shot-stopper believes that Benteke is the stand-out player in Tim Sherwood's squad and realises that keeping the Belgian off the scoresheet will be easier said than done.
“I think Christian Benteke is their best player and we know that two seasons ago he was top scorer for them with more than 20 goals," he said.
“In a way, it’s a good thing for him to have scored three goals in the week so we are reminded that we can’t underestimate him."
Benteke has been in brilliant form for Villa since Sherwood took charge and looks to be back to his very best - as highlighted by his recent hat-trick in a crucial basement battle with Queens Park Rangers.
That will be a concern for Tottenham, as the Lilywhites' defensive record in 2015 has not been particularly impressive.
Spurs have shown that they can be exposed in defensive scenarios and will need to ensure that they remain compact if they are to beat Villa.
Sherwood has already given the Midlands side a much greater attacking threat and they should test Tottenham's defensive quality thoroughly on Saturday.
