The Bedfordshire club currently employ Guillem Balague as their director of football.

In recent times there has certainly been some excitement surrounding Biggleswade United.

The Bedfordshire side currently play in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division, the ninth tier of the football ladder.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague is the club's current director of football and he has already brought in friend and former Chelsea player Quique De Lucas to help out the club.

Yesterday he enlisted the help of current West Ham star Alex Song, with this mock picture which looks like he has signed for the club:

Of course, he hasn't.

Song was just showing off the shirt at the behest of Balague at a fundraising event in London. Balague, with tongue firmly in cheek, made it clear that a move to the ninth tier of English football was not on the cards for the Barcelona owned midfielder.

The former Arsenal man is on loan at West Ham from the Nou Camp, where he was finding first-team football hard to come by. He started the current campaign with aplomb, but has tailed off in recent weeks and now it is unknown whether West Ham will go for a permanent deal regarding Song.

If not, who knows, maybe Biggleswade will be calling?
