The full-back has played in every single minute of the Premier League this season.
Crystal Palace have been in great form since the appointment of Alan Pardew and are steadily rising up the Premier League table. After their recent victory against Manchester City they are currently 11th in the table and seemingly safe from the drop in 39 points.
While the attacking force of Yannick Bolasie, Jason Puncheon and Wilfried Zaha gets much of the credit for their current lofty position it is also important to remember the defensive unit behind their success, and their consistency.
One such player is Joel Ward. The former Portsmouth defender has played every minute of every game in the Premier League this season - so is obviously super fit.
But he has revealed a rather unlikely reason for his continued presence in the team...yoga.
He told the official Crystal Palace YouTube channel:
"The guys here look after us. Scott [Guyett, fitness coach] makes sure we go yoga a couple of times a week and I have individual sessions as well.
"You know your body. As you get more experienced you know what you can do and what you can't do and what works for you."
Whether it is yoga or that extra time in the gym, is certainly appears to be having a positive affect on Ward. He is the club's marathon man, ever reliable and always present.
If it is yoga that is doing the trick, then bring out the mats.
