The striker has been out of action since the start of last month.
West Ham have given their weekly injury update and there is good news regarding the striking positions. The Hammers have been struggling with some injury trouble in recent weeks, in particular the striking position.
Enner Valencia has been out of action since the start of March. He picked up a freak injury after standing on a broken teacup in his home. He suffered a severe wound, described by the official West Ham website as a ‘severe laceration’ and it needed several stitches.
He has not played since but Head of Medical Science at West Ham Stijn Vandenbroucke has now revealed that the Ecuadorian is on the verge of his comeback. He stated to the official site:
“Enner Valencia, who has returned to full training with the first-team squad this week, as those of you who attended the Open Training Day will have seen!
“Enner will be available to be selected to play against Stoke City on Saturday.”
The striker has been missed in recent weeks. The club are also without Andy Carroll, who is suffering with a serious knee injury. Therefore they have been a bit light on the striker front so Valencia will add some much needed depth to the team, giving Diafra Sakho a little room to breathe.
Valencia has been a popular signing since arriving from Mexican side Pachuca in the summer, scoring five goals in 30 appearances for the club.
