Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches has told the club’s official website that his side are going to find it tough to win against Aston Villa on Saturday.
Spurs will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Villa at White Hart Lane.
Under former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood, Villa are a rejuvenated side and have given themselves a fighting chance to escape the drop from the top flight of English top flight.
“I’ve seen Benteke and he’s on fire,” the Romania international told Tottenham’s official website. “I think we’re going to have a difficult game on Saturday because Aston Villa are fighting for survival and they will make it tough for us, but hopefully we can manage to put on a good performance and win the match.”
Benteke has not been at his best for Villa this season, but he has recently come into some good form and will indeed be a threat for Tottenham.
The 26-year-old Belgium international striker scored a hat-trick for the Villans against fellow relegation candidates Queens Park Rangers in the 3-3 draw in the Premier League clash at Villa Park on Tuesday.
The former Standard Liege star has now scored six goals and created 21 chances in 22 league matches this campaign, while having a pass accuracy of 68% and a shot accuracy of 43%.
Tottenham will be favourites to win the Premier League fixture at White Hart Lane on Saturday, but with Benteke coming into some form, the Villans could well snatch a draw.
