Tim Sherwood Press Conference Smiling 12/02/2014

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has been quoted by the Daily Mirror suggesting his old club lied about the way they went after former managerial targets.

Sherwood has suggest that Tottenham could have been telling lies when they denied they were contacting the likes of Louis van Gaal before they sacked Sherwood.

The paper’s report suggests that Tottenham were considering a number of different coaches before they eventually settled on Mauricio Pochettino.

“Tottenham denied they made any contact with managers, but the managers were publicly coming out saying they were being contacted. Someone was telling porkies,” said Sherwood.

Sherwood has also been quoted by the Birmingham Mail suggesting that Tottenham have a great stadium.

He has also thanked the club for the way they generally treated him during the time he was manager at White Hart Lane.

Sherwood had a very brief and interesting time at Tottenham, which was most notable for the number of gifted young players he introduced into the team.

“Tottenham is the next game, at a great stadium, and at a club who have been very good to me,” he said.

The Daily Star has reported that Tottenham now have an extra competitor in the race to sign Javier Hernandez.

The paper has mentioned Spurs as one of the interested parties in the Mexican forward, with Liverpool reportedly the latest side to become interested.

The paper also mentions Everton, West Ham United and Stoke City as interested in signing him.
