The Crystal Palace loanee who should return to the Eagles next season

There is one Crystal Palace player out on loan that has done enough to earn a recall to Alan Pardew’s side.

The Eagles have a host of players out on loan in the Championship, with Paddy McCarthy, Zeki Fryers and Johnny Williams all turning out in the Championship on a frequent basis.

However, there is one Palace outcast who deserves a recall more than any other - Adlene Guedioura, currently playing with Watford.

Algerian midfielder Guedioura, 29, signed for Palace from Nottingham Forest at the start of last season, but struggled to truly cement his place in the team.

He originally left Palace before the turn of the year to make six appearances for the Hornets, but was recalled by Pardew when he was appointed head coach at Selhurst Park;

The current boss offered him a few opportunities to impress, and it appeared he would be staying with the Eagles as part of Pardew’s squad.

However, he was once again outcast, and the 30-capped midfielder returned to Watford until the end of the season to help their promotion push - and he has excelled.

Now arguably the first-choice midfielder, Guedioura has provided an energy that no one else could show in the Hornets’ ranks, and he has added both attacking and defensive solidity to the team.

It was his role in the games with Derby and Middlesbrough that kept Watford’ promotion attack on course, and if they secure top flight football, it could be adjudged that Slavisa Jokanovic will go all out to sign him on a permanent deal.

However, Pardew should be seeing these performances and been attempting to bring him back to Selhurst Park in the summer.

His energetic and creative play would work wonders in the middle of the park, and he has a work-ethic and adhesion to his teammates that characterises all who play for Palace.

Pardew may have let him leave the club this season as he was not in his plans, but Guedioura has done more than enough to receive a key role at Selhusrt Park next term.
