The Dutchman is out of contract in the summer and free to move for nothing.
It is looking increasingly likely that Aston Villa stalwart Ron Vlaar will be leaving the club in the summer. The Dutch international centre-back is out of contract in the summer and has plenty of teams reportedly keen on securing his coveted services.
One such team is Turkish side Galatasaray, with a report today suggesting that a deal is already being discussed with the former Feyenoord defender.
A report from Maraton is claiming that respective new Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has made it clear his intention to broker a deal for the Villa star.
As Vlaar’s contract expires in the summer, and he is over 23-years-old, he is free to discuss a free transfer with any team outside of England – so discussions could well and truly be underway for the Dutchman.
Vlaar gained plenty of attention after he shone in the World Cup for the Netherlands but he has struggled with injury for much of the current campaign. With that in mind Villa fans, who would have previously been devastated to see him leave, will no longer be overly concerned.
Vlaar could join up with fellow Dutch international Wesley Sneijder in Turkey.
