Manchester United fans react on Twitter to prospect of signing Dani Alves

The Barcelona star has rejected renewal terms with Barcelona.

It's been one of the ongoing transfer sagas over recent months, but on Thursday, the agent and ex-wife of Barcelona right-back Dani Alves, Dinorah Santana, declared the Brazilian won't be staying with the Catalan giants, when his current deal expires on 30th June.

Barcelona weren't prepared to offer terms to the satisfaction of Dani Alves, even though he'd always expressed a preference to stay at the Camp Nou, leaving Santana to underline that talks with other clubs will now resume.

Paris Saint Germain have indicated they're not interested, which points towards the Premier League as being the favoured destination for the 31-year-old, who has such a wealth of experience in his boots, along with a host of winners medals to his name.

Liverpool and Manchester United have both been strongly linked with a move by various UK outlets, such as the Daily Mail, but where either team finishes this season in the Premier League, could make the difference.

Whilst it's looking less likely that Liverpool can secure a top-four position, given Manchester United are currently eight points ahead of their arch-rivals and in third position, the Red Devils are now being tipped as favourites to land the Brazilian star this summer.

Following these developments and given there's now a more realistic chance of Dani Alves moving to Old Trafford, Manchester United fans have tweeted a variety of reactions...
