The Leeds boss was at Thorp Arch to watch the Under-21s win on Thursday afternoon.
And the 49-year-old was full of praise for 'outstanding' midfielder Chris Dawson, as well as the 'quite sharp' Brian Montenegro.
The latter got his name on the scoresheet for the Under-21 side - not the first time he has done so this season. Dawson, meanwhile, is also a regular performer for the young Leeds team.
On what he felt was a 'difficult' surface, meanwhile, Redfearn singled the duo out for praise.
"I thought we were the better side from start to finish," the Leeds head coach said.
"It was a difficult surface, the pitch is starting to wear at this time of the year. But I thought we controlled the game.
"I thought Chris Dawson was outstanding in midfield. Brian Montenegro took his goal well and looked quite sharp."
When, though, will Montenegro get another chance for the Leeds senior side?
Should the 21-year-old stay on at Elland Road, he may well be seen as an option for the future. But many fans have asked why, with Leeds' current shortage of goalscoring forwards, Montenegro isn't being considered for the first team right now.
Redfearn has clearly been impressed by the striker when watching him but hasn't shown enough faith in the Paraguayan to give him a proper run in the senior side.
Surely now is the time, with very little for Leeds to play for in terms of end-of-season aspirations.
