Barcelona supporters have been impressed by the performances of their former academy star.
The Mail have reported a poll conducted by Spanish publication 'Sport', in which 12% of the club's fans voted that signing Bellerin would be the ideal outcome to the Alves problem heading into next season. The idea of signing Liverpool's Glen Johnson also polled, albeit with a lowly 2%.
Though Barcelona supporters selected Bellerin as the player to replace the Brazilian should he depart, it is clear that their preference would be Alves remaining at the Nou Camp.
62 % of those that took part in the vote said they hoped the former Sevilla star would extend his contract at the La Liga giants, despite it looking like the right-back's seven-year stay at Barcelona will end this summer when his deal expires.
Alves has made 331 appearances for the Catalan side, including 34 this season, but will be 32-years-old at the start of next season.
It has led fans to look to one of their former proteges in Bellerin, a young La Masia graduate who followed Cesc Fabregas's footsteps in moving to London in search of a quicker route to first team football.
Now 20, Bellerin has enjoyed a breakthrough season this year, and has made 20 appearances for an Arsenal side currently second in the league. The rapid right-back scored the opener in Saturday's 4-1 win over Liverpool, and recently won his first Spanish Under-21 cap.
Having only just gotten the chance to impress at the Emirates, Gunners fans would surely unanimously vote their hope that the Spaniard doesn't follow Fabregas in returning to Barcelona.
