The life of a professional footballer means that the media will often comment on their personal lives - and that is all the more common if they end up becoming involved with a pop star.
We've seen David Beckham and 'Posh Spice' as well as Ashley Cole and Cheryl from Girls Aloud, yet now it's...Sean St Ledger and Taylor Swift grabbing the headlines.
St Ledger, formerly of Peterborough, Preston, Middlesbrough and Leicester, is currently rebuilding his career in the United States, having joined MLS side Orlando City - alongside Brazilian legend Kaka.
The former Republic of Ireland international has hit the headlines for other reasons today though, with speculation surrounding his relationship with Swift.
Swift, whose album 1989 was one of the biggest last year, was pictured together with St Ledger at the start of 2015, sparking rumours then.
Now the situation has been brought up again, with St Ledger telling Irish TV channel RTE that he's refusing to comment on any rumours about himself and Swift, with quotes reported by Goal.
"She’s not been to a game, as of yet. I’m thinking that she might come to one of the New York ones. We’ll see," said St Ledger. "That would be an exclusive for RTE, wouldn't it!" he added when pressed on the matter. "I'm sitting on the fence."
St Ledger certainly doesn't have the glamour like the aforementioned Beckham or Cole, but the rumours may have some substance after his latest comments - and having refused to shake it off, the talk may rumble on yet; even if he would prefer to focus on football.
