Resurgent Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has outperformed Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen since the beginning of 2015.

Premier League figures from January 1 show the German international to be more productive, in less game time.

He has three goals to Eriksen's two, and four assists to the Dane's one, despite playing only 698 minutes compared to Eriksen's 1,024.

Ozil scored a terrific free-kick against Liverpool at the weekend, showing he can it on in big games too, a criticism frequently directed at him since he signed with the club.

Early in the season it was Eriksen who was the league's form player, excelling for Tottenham while Ozil was on the sidelines nursing a knee injury.

A comparison of the entire Premier League season to date however shows while the Spurs ace has been more influential by scoring goals, Arsenal's record signing still has more assists in less than half the game time.

Mesut Özil 4 5 2.6 74.67 87% 15

Eriksen's poor second half of the season has been one of the most disappointing aspects of Tottenham's performances in recent months.

The 23-year-old is no longer influencing games in the way he was earlier in the campaign, while Arsenal are benefiting from Ozil's rest, with the former Real Madrid star in his best stretch of form since signing for the club in 2013.
